ROM
ROM (read only memory) is a type of memory that is non - volatile, this means that the data is retained when the PC is turned off. Its used in computers and most other electronic devices. Data stored in the ROM can be changed but the downside is that its a slow and complex process.Th main purpose of it is to store firmware or different application software in plug in cartridges. Firm ware is software that is closely tied to a specific type of hardware and doesn't need frequent updates.
