Customisation
Nowadays customisation plays a big part in the items and software we buy, e.g. peripherals or operating systems, because having the ability to edit the look and layout of operating systems changes the way people will look at and use them. For example an operating system like Apples's OS is great for editing and productivity because its simple to operate and files can be accessed quite easily because of some features available, like the ability to add bigger shortcuts to the bar on the home screen so files are easier to access and move. Also the fact that there is a task bar at the top of the home screen makes it simpler because everything that someone will need to access to be able to do things like add new files or change the name of a file, is there. Although the OS is customisable it can sometimes be limited.
