Printer

A printer is a device that is used to physically output a digital image onto different materials, such as card, paper and any other materials. The printer is connected to the computer externally, and it uses ink to print the digital photo/ file onto a piece of material. Different printers have different paper capacity's as the more advanced can print content onto A3 paper but the basic printers can only print content on A4 paper. Inkjet printers are used to put small amount t of ink onto a piece of a material to create a physical representation on the content. It does 1 jet per pixel. An advantage of using inkjet printers is that they are more detailed and they output a group of electrostatically charged dots onto a metal drum that is inside the printer, then the dry ink attaches to this and transfers the content onto a piece of paper. The content is permanently attached to the paper by using heat to make it so the print doesn't get smudged. Spooling is a technique where the data that have been sent form the computer to the print, is held until it is ready to print the file/image. This is effective as the user doesn't have to print the work straight away o the method of printing is less rushed
