Unlike other operating systems is a free and its also open source, meaning that it can be edited dramatically to suit different jobs, by changing the code. And because it is open source the operating system is extremely customisable in terms of visuals and in terms of how smoothly it will run with the different features and tools that could be added. Also its extremely good to run on servers as its really secure to use and run, plus different features can be added and customised to make it more suited for a server. However there are some issues with Linux one of which is that not all companies make hardware or software that is compable with the Linux operating system, so this may limit the OS in areas.
