Clean-up
Another type of utility software is disk clean-up. This type of software is usually implanted into PCs' operating systems ,e.g. windows. The job of this tool is to free up space that is being used up by useless files on the PCs' primary storage, these useless files could be files that were created by programs or temporary internet files for the PCs' browser, internet explorer or google chrome. Its also used remove error report logs and other files that are no longer needed. This tool can be run at any time at no cost to use to be able to free up disk space.

By using disk clean up software it will improve the performance of a PC, Drive wiper is a type of software used to complety delete data and make sure that data that has been deleted before has gone completely. And the use of this program makes finding that data and recovering it almost impossible. This program then increases the amount of space in the storage area so more programs can be stored and run on the PC and therefore it also increases performance as the PC wont have to spend a while searching for a file or program through piles of data that isnt used anymore.

Defragmentation is software that moves different data files close to another. So the PC doesn't have to change the data's location too much, instead of tracing though files locations to find the correct file. Because of this program it takes a lot less time to read free hard disk space, it also increases the transfer speed and the time it takes to find files dramatically. Therefore this improves the performance of a system as its a lot easier to find and sort files in a system.
